GLOSSARY
Bass = lowest male voice register.
Baritone = middle male voice register.
Tenor = highest male voice register.
Contralto = lowest female voice register.
Alto = middle female voice register.
Soprano = highest female voice register.
Falsetto voice = a vocal sound made and produced by the artificial or false cords that are located at the top of the throat, resembling a false, light or artificial sound. You will feel the sound generally resonate at the top of the head or in between the ears.
Head voice = a higher lighter airier weaker version of your true voice. Commonly used in the lower range of R&B songs to acquire that smooth sexy breathy tone.
True or middle voice = where most contemporary singing is sung. Delivering a fall rich full-bodied sound from the true voice vocal cords that is located in the larynx. The sound will generally resonate more forward in the mouth or the hard pallet.
Chest voice = a lower deeper tone when you were singing in your low range that resonates in the chest cavity
Mixed, blended or crossover voice = a higher register technique that blends both the true voice and falsetto voice together to create what seems like a true rich voice in your higher range where you would normally sing in falsetto voice.
Staccato = to sing in a dynamic or hitting fashion.
Legato = to sing in a flowing or smooth fashion.
Crescendo = to sing louder or increased volume.
Decrecendo = to sing softer or decrease volume.

Diaphragm = the muscle that sits underneath the lungs that enables you to breath and control the correct amount of air pressure underneath the vocal cords for the ultimate singing control.
Diaphragmatic breath = to breathe into the lower part of the lungs to enable you to use your diaphragm to breathe and support notes for ultimate singing control.
Dual breathing = to breathe into the diaphragm and the bronchi tube at the same time.
Bronchi tube = a tube that is connected to the bottom of the throat and the top of the lungs to transfer air between the two.
